After growing up in rural North Carolina, Angela Kent-Mitchell ’95 saw healthcare disparities firsthand and was inspired to make a difference in communities like hers. Now, she uses her Carolina education to serve Ahoskie, training and inspiring students to practice in rural communities.

UNC Rural offers programs that strengthen community-campus partnerships and support student success:

  • $1,000 provides one rural partner with technical assistance
  • $2,000 covers expenses for one Rural Community Conversation
  • $10,000 provides one Rural Interprofessional Longitudinal Scholars scholarship
  • $15,000 creates seed funding for one rural project
  • $50,000 funds all community-campus events for one year
  • $125,000 funds all RREAF awards for one year
